 The Freedom Of Expression

So it's said in America that we have the right to express ourselves lawfully. A positive outlet. Whether it be in Art, Writings, Dance or Songs. Therefore, these short stories and collection of poems along with assorted short articles were written in a time of heartaches and troubles. Some of you who read this book may become offended, or take it as a joke; either way, it is the expression of the human heart and spirit when confronted by the storms of life, and the aftermath of failures and triumphs and the ability to over come through knowledge and faith.

                                 The Reason I Write

As an artist I can paint pictures, as a writer I can paint pictures with words.

This wasn't always true.  Once upon a time I had poor reading and writing skills because of my lack of self-encouragement and inability to pay attention in class when I attended school. I blamed no one but myself for that self-inflicted wound of ignorance. I was ashamed of my slow reading and writing skills. I could read and write a little, but not as well as I desired. Soon after graduating from high school in 1982, I pursued reading and writing self-improvement courses to correct my self-inflicted defects. And it worked!

In 1990 I attended Gaston College. While there, my major was Radio and Television Production and Theories of Mass Communication.

My confidence in myself and in my abilities to achieve grew, but I still wasn't satisfied with the direction in which I was headed. I felt within my heart that I could do better.

In 1991 I sat down to write my first book entitled "Dawn of a New Age."  After many rewrites,I attained my first copyright on August 15, 1994. During the next two years I would be turned down many times by book publishers and motion picture companies, but that's a part of the business.

Even though my writing was being rejected, I continued to write every day, promising myself that I would never give up. NEVER!

Around April 1997 I was approached by 1stbooks Library to have my book published on the World Wide Web. I accepted their offer. My book entitled "Dawn of a New Age" was published on March 3, 1998, on the World Wide Web.

At first I had no desire to become a writer; it came from my hunger for more knowledge after reading God's holy words from the Bible. I was inspired by His Holy words to evolve and reach a higher level of excellence. So I may exceed in my writing, my art, my animation and in other aspects of my life.

I write to satisfy my continuing hunger for knowledge.                                                      ~Willie Easter, Jr.                                                                                                                copyright easterj 2010

                                              Threshold Of Learning

While you were standing on the street corner selling drugs, I was learning, gaining understand, discovering wisdom. While you thought you were keeping me from befriending a woman, I was learning, reaching higher for excellence. While you were playing that no money no love game, I was learning; perfecting myself so I could fulfill all of my expectations. While you were selling your body and soul to the highest bidder, I was learning how to live righteously according to God's standards.  While you were rooting yourself in wickedness, I was learning God's precepts. While you were celebrating the men you deceived and caused to fall, I was learning to thank God for helping me stand up after the fall. While you and your sneering hyenas were laughing because you thought I was going to fail, I was learning to sing and dance for victory day!   AND I'M STILL LEARNING!

The mystery sign of the zodiac, Scorpios are frequently intriguing, with a truly dynamic and majestic way of going about a problem or situation. This sign is also the sign of death, but manifests itself in the struggle between the soul and the personality. The personality is usually the loser, because the Scorpio's stinger many times stings itself to death. This is where the Phoenix comes in--to resurrect the person to new heights, a new beginning, or a new way of thinking.

Thus, change is constant for a Scorpio, who is involved all the time in death, rebirth and renewal. For the Scorpio, there is no in-between--life is many times a matter of life and death, black and white, devil vs. angel, etc. They don't know the meaning of indifference, and tend to be either your friend or your enemy. There is no shade of gray. Once you've gained the trust of a Scorpio, you've won him forever--unless you hurt him in some way.

Scorpios have a very strong reserve, and a lot is hidden below the surface. They command respect from acquaintances due to their strong, quiet exterior, and many times work to earn the respect of close ties. They also usually show a lot of creativity, and a great ability for sarcasm ( nooo) with their deadly tongue, which can get them in trouble. For others, who are more evolved, the stinger helps them transform their lives for the better. They are truly courageous, not afraid of anything. Their endurance makes them plow ahead, overcoming any obstacle in their path.

Though they are considered the "sexiest" sign of the zodiac, Scorpios have gotten a bad rap for being almost sleazy. They simply have strong passions that need regenerating, and a tremendous pride that seems to say, "Don't judge a book by its cover."

Scorpios are a master at hiding their emotions. They have a tremendous strength and power when they have managed to rise above their personality and seek power not for themselves, but to heal and bless others. They reach their goals through service, purity, compassion and humility. They have a need to redeem and transform their natures, and to have a happy marriage. Their innate curiosity makes them probe deeply into all things, seeking the meaning behind the surface. They dig out concealed facts, and are one of the most intuitive signs of the zodiac. A highly evolved Scorpio is psychic, having a rich inner life that is passionate about metaphysics. 9 A THIRD EYE!)

Willie Easter, Jr. Scorpio
October 23 - November 21

Scorpio is the eighth sign of the zodiac, and that shouldn't be taken lightly -- nor should Scorpios! Those born under this sign are dead serious in their mission to learn about others. There's no fluff or chatter for Scorpios, either; these folks will zero in on the essential questions, gleaning the secrets that lie within. Scorpios concern themselves with beginnings and endings, and are unafraid of either; they also travel in a world that is black and white and has little use for gray. The curiosity of Scorpios is immeasurable, which may be why they are such adept investigators. These folks love to probe and know how to get to the bottom of things. The fact that they have a keen sense of intuition certainly helps.

The Scorpion symbolizes Scorpio, and that is no accident. Much like the Scorpion would rather kill itself than be killed, those born under this sign are in ultimate control of their destiny. It is life on the Scorpion's terms, too, since these folks promote their agenda (they are quite the executives) and see to it that things go forward. Others may find this overbearing (it can be) and even self-destructive, but that's the beauty of the Scorpio: they have tremendous regenerative powers, much like the literal Scorpion can lose its tail and promptly grow a new one. Fearless Scorpios rarely lose; they just keep on going, since they are stubborn and determined to succeed (this Scorpio trait is in keeping with the Fixed Quality assigned to this sign). Scorpios work as hard as they do so they can someday sit back and feel satisfied with themselves. These folks are intense, passionate and filled with desire. They're also complex and secretive, so don't expect to get much out of them, lest they become suspicious and exit stage left. It's best not to bet against Scorpios, either, since these folks are surprisingly resourceful.

Scorpio is ruled by Mars and Pluto. Mars was the God of War in ancient Roman mythology and is the first (and most ancient) ruler of Scorpio. When Pluto was discovered in the 20th century, it was also assigned to this sign. Pluto was known as the God of the Underworld in ancient Roman times, so when coupled with Mars, expect some intense energy to head toward Scorpions here on Earth. This planetary combo makes for people who are motivated, penetrating and aware. Scorpions don't miss much, since they are highly attuned to the vibrations of others. They are intuitive, probing and very focused on knowing who's who and what's what. Scorpios can lose their temper (and even become vengeful) when someone gets in their way, so it's best to give them plenty of room. Remember, they're unafraid, and a loss today simply means an opportunity for victory tomorrow.

The Element associated with Scorpio is Water. As opposed to the 'roiling seas' seen in other Water Signs, a better motto for Scorpios would be 'still waters run deep.' Those born under this sign are as emotional as their waterborne brethren, it's just that they're not as likely to show it. The Scorpio's emotions are repressed, kept under cover. Again, these are secrets to be used another day. That said, be aware that these folks are clever, perceptive and always in the mix. Their ability to see into things can sometimes be a

curse for Scorpios, however, since they can take an insignificant matter and turn it into a huge slight. Beware the Scorpio who feels crossed! These folks can turn vindictive in no time flat. Luckily, once Scorpios catch their breath, they will return to their usual determined and loyal (albeit strong-willed) ways. Finally, while Scorpios aren't above some subtle manipulation to get what they want, they'd much rather take a scientific, even mystical path. The Scorpio-born are powerful and passionate, qualities that serve them well, as long as they don't let them deteriorate into self-indulgence or compulsion.

Scorpios love competition in both work and play, which is why they'll air it out in sports and games. Extreme sports are right up Scorpio's alley, as is most anything that will test their mettle. They've got to have an adversary, since it makes the game that much more fun. Scorpio's colors? Powerful red and serious black. When it comes to love, though, Scorpios soften up a bit and are caring and devoted with their lovers, even if they do hold on a bit tight. Scorpios are also lusty in the extreme (how else?), so they need to be mindful of their reproductive organs.

The great strength of the Scorpio-born is in their determination, passion and motivation. Scorpios don't know the word quit, which is why they usually get the job done. A powerhouse? Like no other.

Now you know why I always say, “Never Give Up!”
